In 2017 the Federal Ontario laws* regarding the safetying of a new vehicle with tint on the front two doors and windshield have changed to allow 70% light transmittance through, 30% tint; this does not apply to the rear passenger and back windows. Under the Highly Traffic Act (section 73 & 74) (which has not changed) states..."No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle on which the surface of the windshield or of any window to the direct left or right of the driver’s seat has been coated with any coloured spray or other coloured or reflective material that substantially obscures the interior of the motor vehicle when viewed from outside the motor vehicle.
