Windshield Replacement

​​Check out that beautiful, straight V-bead! No scratches on pinch-weld; primed and sealed to safety standards. Applying the urethane is one of the most critical stages of changing your glass. The type of bead and where it is placed is imperative to the bond and seal. Did you know your windshield is the third-most important safety feature of your vehicle? It is designed as a backboard for your airbag to properly function, as well as to keep your roof from collapsing in rollovers. This V-bead ensures all gaps are filled, preventing leaks and ensuring a secure bond to the glass. Ensure your glass installer is knowledgeable and experienced!

We use high-quality primers and sealants* that ensure all safety standards are met, including Federal Safety Standards and the new Ontario safety inspection** requirements according to the Department of Transportation. FMVSS Standards*** NO. 208/212/214/216/219 refer to the importance of the windshield being properly mounted to the vehicle. Your windshield provides 1/3 of your vehicle's structural strength; it is the third most important safety feature because:

• It prevents passenger ejection in accidents.***
• It is part of the structural integrity of the vehicle, preventing the roof from collapsing in the event of a rollover.***
• It is used as a backboard for the airbags when they deploy for proper positioning.***

REPAIR

Not all glass needs to be replaced; if possible, we will try to save your glass, which saves you the cost of replacing it. If you have a small crack or stone chip, call us for a free quote or estimate. If the chip is smaller than a loonie, there's a good chance we can repair it. In the event that a crack or chip is not repairable, we will recommend replacement. Should a stone chip break while being repaired, which is possible, we will deduct that cost from your replacement. 

It is just as important to repair a chip or crack as it is to replace a broken windshield. 
Windshield Repair: It's important to act fast because:

• The majority of chips will turn into cracks, which can weaken the integrity of the windshield. ***
• A chip or crack may occur while driving and can impair driver visibility.
• Depending on the location, a chip or crack will not meet safety standards. **
• You may be fined by the police depending on the location of a crack.
• Repairing a chip less than the size of a loonie will ensure the windshield maintains its original integrity.
